Deacon A. C. Bivens, was born in Fruitdale, Alabama on May 30, 1926 to Mr. Sip Bivens, Sr. and Mrs. Essie (Johnson) Bivens.
Deacon Bivens gave his life to Christ at an early age in Fruitdale, Alabama at First Baptist Church; later in life when he met the love of his life, Ms. Martha Lucille Woods, in 1948 and was married in 1949, they lived in Fruitdale, for a short period of time and relocated to Deer Park, Alabama and united with New Light Missionary Baptist Church.
Dea. A. C. Bivens was a loyal, dedicated employee of International Paper Company and retired from there, after 35 years of service.
Deacon Bivens later became a devoted and faithful deacon for over 70 years. He was a Sunday School Teacher; Member of both Fire Departments in Deer Park and was instrumental in helping to bring water to the Deer Park Community as a member of the local water board.
In 2016 Dea. A.C. Bivens was inducted into the Washington County Hall of Fame.
Most dear to the heart of Deacon A. C. Bivens, was his family.
Deacon Bivens is preceded in death by his parents, Sip, Sr. and Essie Bivens, his eldest son, Lawrence Albert Bivens, his baby boy, Burt LeDale Bivens. His brothers, Floyd (Everlene) Bivens, Sip (Elsie) Bivens, Jr., Charlie (Lula Mae) Bivens, Spencer Bivens, J. C. (Ola Mae) Bivens and George Bivens. His sisters, Elnora (Tom) Boykin, Bernice Spotts, Annie Bell (Edlee) Rogers, Brother in Law, David Hill.
Deacon A. C. Bivens, leaves to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted wife of 74 years, Martha L. Woods-Bivens. His children, Jo Ann Bivens, Milwaukee, WI, Jauneice (Ray) Benjamin, Brooklyn, MS, Glenda Faye Bivens, Milwaukee, WI, Patsy (Wondo) Crawford, Milwaukee, WI. Daughter in Law, Margaret Bivens, Leaksville, MS. His grandchildren, Rev. Tyrone M. (Dineatha) Dixon, Kerrie Bivens and Charlett (Manuel) Baily, Ian Joseph, Kimberly (Bernard) Hill, Michelle Joseph and Lakesha Carrington. A loving brother, Deacon Robert (Ethel) Bivens, Whistler, Al., a brother in law, L. J. Spotts, A loving sister, Mattie P. (David) Hill, a sister in law, Myrtice Bivens. A host of Great Grands, Great-Great Grands, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Two devoted friends, Dea. Albert Hill and Deacon Bill Burley.
