Mother Martha Bivens, was born August 3, 1930 to the union of the late Joseph Ray Woods, Sr. and Della (Turner) Woods, in Deer Park, Alabama.
Mother Martha Bivens, gave her life to Christ at an early age at the Newlight Missionary Baptist Church, in Deer Park, Alabama. Later in life she met the love of her life, Dea. A. C. Bivens of Fruitdale, Alabama; they were united in marriage in the year of 1949; they resided in Fruitdale, Alabama for a short period of time before relocating to their final home in Deer Park, Alabama.
Mother Martha Bivens was a devoted Christian, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grand Mother, Great Great Grandmother, sister, cousin and Friend to all.
In her service to God Almighty, Mother Martha Bivens, served as a Choir member and Director; President of the Youth Department and a devoted member of the Pastor’s Aide Board.
Most dear to the heart of Mother Martha Bivens, was the love she shared and exhibited for her family.
Mother Martha Bivens was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Ray Woods, Ser. And Della (Turner) Woods. Her eldest son, Lawrence Albert Bivens and her baby boy, Burt LeDale Bivens. Her Brothers, Walter Woods, Melvin Woods, Carl Woods, Hollis Woods, George Woods and Joseph Ray Woods, Jr. and her sister, Mary Grimes.
Mother Martha (Woods) Bivens, leaves to cherish her memories, five loving and devoted children, Jo Ann Bivens, Milwaukee, WI, Jauneice (Ray) Benjamin, Glenda F. Bivens, Patsy E. (Wando) Crawford, and Son, Derrick O. Bivens.
Her grandchildren, Rev. Tyrone M. (Dineatha) Dixon, Kerrie Bivens and Charlett (Manuel) Baily, Ian Joseph, Kimberly (Bernard) Hill, Michelle Joseph and Lakesha Carrington. A host of Great Grands and Great Great Grandchildren.
Brother in Laws, Dea. Robert (Ethel) Bivens, L.J. Spotts and A. R. Grimes and Sister in Laws, Mattie P. Hill, Myrtis Bivens, Annie L. Woods and Dessie Woods.
A host of cousins, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. One devoted friend, Minister Louise Hill.
